Acting Camp: Grades 1 - 3

Session 27

Script: Super Heroes to the Rescue

During this fun-filled week, students will develop their acting skills through direct teaching, exciting improvisations, and preparing an original, one-act play called Super Heroes to the Rescue. The week culminates with the students performing their play ON STAGE for family and friends to enjoy.

Times: Monday – Friday: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Camp Dates: July 8-12, 2024

Camp Size Limit: 14 Students

Food: Students should bring 2 snacks, a sack lunch, and a water bottle to camp each day.  

Note: Students must be at least 6 years old by the start of camp. Students under 6 years old are invited to join us in the camp for ages 4 years old through Kindergarten.

  • Camp Showcase: Friday, July 12, 1:15 PM

Showcase Performance:

Summer Showcase: Friday, July 12, 1:15pm

Showcase Location: Will be held at Sand Creek High School in Colorado Springs.

Showcase Tickets: Tickets are not needed to attend the Showcase so families can invite guests to attend the performance without cost!

Costumes: Students will be required to provide their own costumes for the show. Most costumes can be created from items around your home or from Goodwill.


Tuition Payment Options:

Payment in Full: $365 (If paid in full at registration)

Payment Plan Option: 

$150 Due at Registration
$125 Due on April 1st
$125 Due on May 1st

Summer Camp Refund Policy:

If a student is withdrawn from Summer Camp BEFORE May 1st, the tuition will be refunded minus the $100 non-refundable deposit.

If a student is withdrawn from Summer Camp after May 1st, no refund will be given.  However, if ACT is able to fill your spot with another student, then ACT will refund the tuition less the $100 deposit. 

Tuition Discounts:

Military Discount*

Students who have a military or veteran parent qualify for a 10% discount.

Multi-Class Discount*

We offer a 10% discount for each additional camp a student takes over the summer.

Sibling Discount*

We offer a 10% discount for each additional sibling who participates in a camp over the summer.

*Students may use only one discount per class and all discounts will be applied to the equal or lesser value class.

Vanessa Rankin

Studio Director, Acting & Improv Instructor

Vanessa is a playwright, teacher, wife, and mother. She earned her B.A. from CU Boulder and her M.P.A from UCCS. She has created magic in the entertainment departments of Disneyland, Walt Disney World, Universal Studios, and Six Flags Elitch Gardens. She loves acting and some of her favorite past productions include, The Baseball Show (Heritage Square Music Hall), Nunsense (Breckenridge Backstage), and Mrs. Bob Cratchit’s Wild Christmas Binge (Denver Victorian). She was nominated for a 2007 Denver Post, Ovation Award and Marlowe Award, for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy, for her role as Sue Lawson in, Not Now Darling! (Miner’s Alley Playhouse), and was part of the cast for the 2010 Ovation Award nomination for Best Comedy, Getting Married (Germinal Stage). She is committed to volunteering, having been a Big Sister with Big Brothers Big Sisters, a Disney VoluntEAR and she served in the Peace Corps, Armenia. She is very excited to be a part of the ACT team!
