Casting Eligibility:  Auditions open to those 9-years-old through adults.  (There are limited roles for the youngest actors and adults. Most roles will be filled by those 11-18 years old. Students MUST be at least 9-years-old by their audition date.)

The Audition Process

1.  Schedule your audition time.

Auditions: November 16-December 1 (By Appointment)

Once your audition has been scheduled you will receive a confirmation e-mail within 2 business days. If you do NOT receive a confirmation e-mail please contact us at to confirm we received your audition time.                                

2.  Complete audition form (Bring to AUDITION)

4.  Audition (60 minutes)

A maximum of 12 people will be scheduled for each 60 minute audition time.

Vocal Audition: Please choose only one song for a character that that most interests you. If there are multiple characters you would like to audition for, please choose the song that fits your voice the best.  No matter what song you choose, you will be considered for all roles.  (The songs and the sheet music are posted in the tab for Audition Songs.) 

Dance Audition: Please come in clothing and shoes that you will be able to dance in.  At the audition, the choreographer will teach a dance routine and rehearse it with you.  Near the end of your audition time, you will then perform what you have learned for the production team as your audition.

5.  Bring your completed audition form, your consent form and a recent photo of you to your audition.

6.  By December 3, you will receive an email letting you know if you are being called back for a second audition or not.  If you are called back,  you will be given a link with additional music to prepare for the vocal callback. 

8.  Vocal callbacks will be held on December 5 (Wednesday) from 4:00 – 8:30 PM. (You will be given a specific time to attend.)

9.  Final callbacks will be held on December 8 (Saturday) from 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM.  (We will call back actors in groups depending upon the role(s) for which they are being considered. Those who are called back will be given a schedule for the day, along with a link to additional music and acting scenes to prepare.)

10.  The show will be cast by December 10. All performers who are called back will receive an email announcing if they were cast or not.

11.  There will be a cast and parent meeting December 13 from 5:30-8:00 PM in the studio.

Those interested in auditioning, will schedule one audition time of 60 minutes.  There will be 12 people scheduled for each 60 minute audition slot.  If you are unable to attend any of the audition dates, please contact us.

*Be sure to rehearse and memorize the entire song selection, regardless of which characters are singing. We want to hear you sing the entire selection!

The Academy of Community Theatre (ACT II) strives to not only produce a high-quality show, we also focus on training each actor in the process, hence the name “Academy.” Since this is an academy for training, as well as performing, a tuition is charged if you are cast in the show.

Tuition (Applicable only for actors 21 & under): $350 (If paid in full at the first cast meeting on December 13th.)

Tuition Payment Option: 

  • $100 due on December 13
  • $70 due on January 4 (at first rehearsal)
  • $70 due on February 1
  • $70 due on March 1
  • $70 due on April 1

What is included in the tuition:  

  • Training during “Intensives”
  • Scheduled Rehearsals
  • All Performances
  • Libretto Vocal Book (must be returned since the scripts are rented)
  • Costume usage
  • Stage make-up usage

What is not included in the tuition:

  • Tickets to the performances
  • Willy Wonka T-shirts or Hoodies (These may be ordered at the initial cast meeting if desired.)
  • Shoes
  • Eyeliner, mascara, and chapstick.  (These cannot be shared, so you will need to provide your own.)
  • Undergarments. (Certain females will need a nude-colored leotard to wear under costumes for quick changes.)
