AUDITION & CAST DETAILS

Location: 2314 Vickers Dr.
Casting Eligibility:Anyone from 6-19 years old may audition. (Those who are 19 must still be enrolled in High School to audition.) The majority of roles will be filled with students between 11-19 years of age. There are two roles for students between 6-10 years old: Young Kangaroo and Elephant Bird.
Tuition: There is no fee to audition. IF cast, tuition will be charged. (See section on tuition for further details.)
Female Only Roles: Gertrude, Mayzie, Bird Girls, Sour Kangaroo, Mrs. Mayor
Male or Female Roles: Cat in the Hat, Jojo, Wickershams, Nools, Vlad Vladikoff, Citizens of Whoville, Yertle the Turtle
Younger Children Roles: Young Kangaroo (About 8-10 years old), Elephant Bird (About 6-8 years old)
THE AUDITION PROCESS
The Audition Process
1.Schedule your audition time.

Once your audition has been scheduled you will receive a confirmation e-mail within 48 hours. If you do NOT receive a confirmation e-mail please contact us atdirector@ACTcolorado.netto confirm we received your audition time.
A maximum of 10 people will be scheduled for each 60 minute audition time.
Vocal Audition: Please choose only one song for the character that you would like to audition for. If there are multiple characters you would like to audition for please choose the song that fits your voice the best. (The songs and the sheet music are posted in the tab for Audition Songs.)
Dance Audition: Please come in clothing and shoes that you will be able to dance in.At the audition, the choreographer will teach a dance routine and rehearse it with you.Near the end of your audition time, you will then perform what you have learned for the production team as your audition.
5.Bring your completed audition form, your consent form and a recent photo of you to your audition.
6.By December 5, you will receive an email letting you know if you are being called back for a second audition or not.(If you are not called back, you are not in the running to be cast.)
8.Call backs will be held on December 10 (Sunday) from 2:00 – 8:00 PM.(We will be calling back actors in groups depending upon the roles for which they are being considered. Those who are called back will be given a schedule for the day and acting scenes to read over.)
9.The show will be cast by December 11. All performers who are called back will receive an email announcing if they were cast or not.
10.There will be a cast and parent meeting December 12 at 5:30 PM in the studio.If cast, your tuition payment will be due at this time.
11.Once cast, each performer will schedule a 20 minute costume fitting appointment in December .

Those interested in auditioning, will schedule one audition time of 60 minutes. There will be 10 people scheduled for each 60 minute audition slot. If you are unable to attend any of the audition dates, please contact us.

Memorize ONE of songs for ONE of the characters posted here. If the role you want is listed more than once, you may choose which selection to sing for your audition. Those interested in an ensemble role or a role not listed may choose any one of the selections.
The Academy of Community Theatre (ACT II) strives to not only produce a high-quality show, we also focus on training each actor in the process, hence the name “Academy.” Since this is an academy for training, as well as performing, a tuition is charged if you are cast in the show.
Tuition: $300 (If paid in full at the first cast meeting on December 12th.)
