CAST INFORMATION

NOTES:

  • When an age is listed for a character, it doesn’t mean the actor has to be that age.  That is the age the actor has to be able to portray on stage.  Teenage actors are often able to portray adults and some are able to portray a younger character.
  • Since we have several dress rehearsals AND 11 shows in a row, we would like to double cast many of the nine main roles.  This will protect the singer’s voices during the run. When an actor is not playing the main role, he/she will perform in the ensemble, so every actor WILL be in every show.  Actors who are in a role that is double cast will perform the main role 5-6 times!

WINNIE FOSTER – 11 years old, mezzo/soprano

JESSE TUCK – 17 years old, the youngest of the Tuck family, tenor

MILES TUCK – Jesse’s older brother, tenor/baritone

MAE TUCK – Jesse’s mother, mezzo

ANGUS TUCK – Jesse’s father, tenor

MAN IN THE YELLOW SUIT – a nefarious leader of a traveling carnival, in search of the fountain of youth, tenor

CONSTABLE JOE – head of the police force in Treegap, tenor

HUGO – Constable Joe’s sidekick and son, tenor/alto

MOTHER – Winnie’s mother, mezzo

ENSEMBLE- We are looking for an ensemble of strong singers, actors, and dancers who will be featured many times throughout the show including Good Girl Winnie Foster, Top of the World, Partner in Crime, and Ev’rything’s Golden, among others. Strong harmonization ability is a plus.

FEATURED DANCERS- We will be casting several dancers who will be a part of the ensemble, but will also be featured as circus performers. Acrobatic abilities are a plus, but not a requirement.

Tuition

The Academy of Community Theatre (ACT II) strives to not only produce a high-quality show but also focus on training each actor in the process, hence the name “Academy.” Since this is an academy for training, as well as performing, tuition is charged if you are cast in the show. Actors who are 22-years-old and older have often finished their higher education, so we waive the tuition for them and request (but not require) a tax-deductible donation of $100 or more to help with the production costs.

Tuition: The tuition fee is divided up into 5 payments which will automatically be charged to your card on file on the following dates unless you specify that you’d like to pay in full at registration.  A 5% discount will be applied to those who chose to pay in full by June 16th.

  • $125 due on June 16
