Multi-Class and Sibling Discounts

In order to enhance the development of our actors, we offer a 20% discount for each additional class a student takes. Our schedule has been configured in a way that offers more opportunities for our students to take multiple classes. In addition, we offer a 10% discount for each additional sibling who participates in classes. (The deposit for each class is not discounted and discounts will be applied to an equal or lesser value class.)

If you are eligible for a discount AND wish to pay in full for the semester, please register and pay the deposit for each class at this time. VOCALS WITH DANCE FOR PERFORMING ARTS: Grades 7-12
Fridays 6:15-8:15 PM
Musical Selections from Hamilton*

Come shine in our new Vocals with Dance for the Performing Arts class! Since singing in theatre isn’t just standing in one place, we will focus on developing singing with good support while dancing. We’ll work on developing solid vocal technique, along with caring for your voice, and keeping it in tip-top shape! Not strong at sight reading music? We will study some sight-singing skills to help you navigate through reading a score.

Students will sing selections from Hamilton*.

Prerequisite: Students must have ONE of the following to take this course.

  • A minimum of two semesters of Musical Theatre at ACT within the past two years. (A previous Acting, Broadway Combo or Dance class or camp does not fulfill this prerequisite.)
  • Teacher Approval

*IMPORTANT MUSIC INFORMATION: When Hamilton was first performed almost five years ago, it was a ground-breaking production that changed the game of musical theatre. This patriotic show follows the remarkable life story of Alexander Hamilton, one of the Founding Fathers of the United States. We are thrilled to have found an ACT-appropriate choral medley of the most popular Hamilton songs, that we can perform in our classes.

We will be performing clean selections from Hamilton. Although the content we will teach in class is clean, the original Broadway cast recording contains some inappropriate language and content. If parents choose to allow their children to listen to or watch the full version of Hamilton, we recommend that parents listen to the original Broadway cast recording first. We will NOT be using or referring to any of the inappropriate songs or lyrics.

In order for you to be confident in the music that is being sung, we have included it below for you to hear. You may also CLICK HERE to view the sheet music and lyrics that we will be using. Since the first line of the music originally included  words that we will not be using in class, we have muted it out in the following vocal track. The lyrics we will be using in class for the first line are “How did a rag-tag orphan, son of the poor and a Scotsman…” Please do not hesitate to reach out via e-mail with any questions about this class.
