FALL CLASS

Scene Study: Grades 7 - 12

Scene Study: ACT II Students

Scene Study is a non-performance class that involves actors taking a scene from a play and working on it in front of the instructor and peers. The goal is to receive constructive feedback that helps the actors improve their craft and their abilities. Scene Study is a way for actors to continually work on their craft and discover their strengths and weaknesses. It’s a great way to take all the exercises and techniques they have learned and put them into practice.

Actors will be paired up to work on scenes and develop them together, often outside of class time. When ready, they will present their scene to the class for critic and learning. This is a commonly used way of teaching acting in college, as it allows for deeper growth in acting skills. This kind of training is very important for our acting students AND musical theatre students.

Consistent weekly attendance and out of class preparation will be required.

Prerequisite Required: Students must have been or are currently cast in an ACT II production.
