This will be a fun-filled class full of dancing, singing, and acting. Each student will learn two songs and two dances choreographed for them. They will learn self-confidence as they perform in front of each other and play games that encourage working together. We will do activities to teach coordination and projection. Students will prepare musical selections from The Little Mermaid to perform ON STAGE for the Semester Showcase.

Class Size Limit: 10 Students (Full Class)
Student Ages: Ages 4 – Kindergarten (Students must turn 4 before August 25, 2023)
Dress Rehearsal: Wednesday, November 29, 5:15 – 6:00 PM
Semester Showcase: Friday, December 15, 4:30 PM
Semester Showcase Location: Sand Creek High School Auditorium
Showcase Production Fee: A production fee of $55 will be charged on November 1st. Production fees will be discounted for families with multiple students or multiple classes ($45 for a second class or student and $25 for the third, with a maximum of $125 per family).
Showcase Tickets: Tickets are not needed to attend the Semester Showcase so families can invite guests to attend the performance without cost!
Costumes: Students will be required to provide their own costumes for the show. Most costumes can be created from items around your home or from Goodwill.

A 5% discount will be given if semester tuition is paid in full at the time of registration.

Students who have an active military parent qualify for a 10% discount.
Sibling Discount*
We offer a 10% discount for each additional sibling who participates in classes.
*Students may use only one discount per class and all discounts will be applied to the equal or lesser value class.
Musical Theatre, Dance Instructor & Choreographer
Shayla Mellen has a Bachelors of Arts in Visual and Performing Arts with a Dance Major and Theater minor which she received at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. As well as an Associate of Arts in Dance Performance on a full-tuition scholarship from Casper College. She has been dancing since the age of 2 and dance and theater are her absolute passion. She has been in many musicals, plays, and dance shows such as Double-Sided Coin, Collective Trust, Mary Poppins, The Wedding Singer, Six Characters in Search of an Author, A Rock N Roll Fantasy, and an adaptation of Charlotte’s Web through dance. She is the Show Choir and Musical Choreographer at Vista Ridge High School and Show Choir Choreographer for Falcon High School. Shayla has also choreographed some of her own original dance shows such as Resurgence and Psyche through UCCS. She has loved being a part of the ACT staff for a couple of years now.
