This is a fun and creative class filled with a combination of improv, games, and acting for the stage. Students will learn a variety of acting skills and techniques throughout the semester. The class will prepare a show and perform an original, one-act play ON STAGE in the Semester Showcase.
Script Description: The Restless Kingdom is an original one-act comedy. When the Princess Sigrith isn’t able to sleep at night, many come forward to try and solve her problem, from the jester telling jokes to the diva with a beauty regimen. But the wise sage throws the kingdom into turmoil with her unusual methods, and soon no one is sleeping except for the princess – who has aged overnight – until each of them learns their own life lesson and the Narrator finds a way to restore order and close the story.
Prerequisite: Students must have one of the following to take this course:

Dress Rehearsal: Tuesday, May 14, 5:00 – 6:30 PM
Semester Showcase: Friday, May 17, 4:30 PM
Semester Showcase Location: Sand Creek High School Auditorium
Showcase Production Fee: A production fee of $55 will be charged on April 1st. Production fees will be discounted for families with multiple students or multiple classes ($45 for a second class or student and $25 for the third, with a maximum of $125 per family).
Showcase Tickets: Tickets are not needed to attend the Semester Showcase so families can invite guests to attend the performance without cost!
Costumes: Students will be required to provide their own costumes for the show. Most costumes can be created from items around your home or from Goodwill.

A 5% discount will be given if semester tuition is paid in full at the time of registration.

Students who have a military or veteran parent qualify for a 10% discount.
Multi-Class Discount*
We offer a 10% discount for each additional class a student takes in one semester.

We offer a 10% discount for each additional sibling who participates in classes.
*Students may use only one discount per class and all discounts will be applied to the equal or lesser value class.
Bob is thrilled to be on the team with the Academy of Children’s Theatre! Bob is currently a lecturer with The Department of Visual and Performing Arts at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. Robert is a trained actor and a member of Actor’s Equity Association, The Screen Actor’s Guild, and The Stage Directors and Choreographers Society. He specializes in comedic theatre training derived from his work at The Second City, Carnivores In Action, and Burnt Toast. He has worked as an actor and director at The Signature Theatre (NYC), The Ensemble Theatre of Cincinnati, Actors Theatre of Louisville, Theatreworks (Colorado Springs), Cincinnati Shakespeare Festival, Tennessee Repertory Theater, and many more. Some of Bob’s favorite roles are, Falstaff-Merry Wives of Windsor, Scrooge-A Christmas Carol, The Complete Works of Shakespeare, John Adams-1776, Hook-Peter Pan, and Herod-Jesus Christ Superstar.
