Do you love theatre dance? If so, this class is for you. Since multiple dance styles are often woven together to create interesting numbers for musical theatre, you will be developing techniques in both tap dance and jazz dance. We will also be increasing your flexibility, strength, and performance techniques to learn how to portray an interesting character through dance that goes beyond just technical dancing. Students will prepare a medley of choreographed songs from Frozen to perform ON STAGE for family and friends to enjoy!

Student Ages: Grades 1 – 3
No Classes on September 2nd (Labor Day)
No Classes November 24th – December 1st (Thanksgiving Break)
Dress Rehearsal & Semester Showcase: These dates will be finalized and posted in August.
Semester Showcase Location: Sand Creek High School Theatre
Showcase Production Fee: A production fee of $60 will be charged on November 1st. Production fees will be discounted for families with multiple students or multiple classes ($45 for a second class or student and $25 for the third, with a maximum of $130 per family).
Showcase Tickets: Tickets are not needed to attend the Semester Showcase so families can invite guests to attend the performance without cost!
Costumes: Students will be required to provide their own costumes for the show. Most costumes can be created from items around your home or from Goodwill.

Elyse began dancing at the young age of four and has been dancing ever since. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Visual and Performing Arts from the University of Colorado – Colorado Springs in 2011. Elyse has been a dance instructor for ten years and has directed numerous dance productions including How the Grinch Stole Christmas, The Lion King, and The Christmas Letter! She has won awards at statewide dance competitions, including Best Choreography, Entertainment Awards, and Best Costume. She loves sharing her passion for theatre and dance with her students and is excited to be working with ACT & ACT II!
