Musical Selections from Hairspray
Do you love musical theatre and dance? If so, this class is for you. Since multiple dance styles are often woven together to create interesting numbers for musical theatre, you will be developing techniques in tap and jazz, along with some modern dance. We will also be increasing your flexibility, strength, and performance techniques to learn how to portray an interesting character through dance that goes beyond just technical dancing. Students will prepare a medley of choreographed songs from Hairspray to perform ON STAGE for family and friends to enjoy!
Dance Shoe Requirement: Black Jazz Shoes & Black Tap Shoes
Times: Monday – Friday: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Camp Dates: June 22 – 26, 2026
Camp Size Limit: 16 Students
Food: Students should bring 2 snacks, a sack lunch, and a water bottle each day.

Showcase Performance:
Summer Showcase: Friday, June 26, 1:15pm
Showcase Location: Will be held at Sand Creek High School in Colorado Springs.
Showcase Tickets: Tickets are not needed to attend the Showcase so families can invite guests to attend the performance without cost!
Costumes: Students will be required to provide their own costumes for the show. Most costumes can be created from items around your home or from Goodwill.

Payment: $395 – if paid in full at registration
Tuition Payment Plan:
- $125 Due at Registration
- $100 Due March 1
- $100 Due April 1
- $100 Due May 1
Summer Camp Refund Policy:
If a student is withdrawn from Summer Camp BEFORE May 1st, the tuition will be refunded minus the $100 non-refundable deposit.
If a student is withdrawn from Summer Camp after May 1st, no refund will be given. However, if ACT is able to fill your spot with another student, then ACT will refund the tuition less the $100 deposit.
Tuition Discounts:
Military Discount*
Students who have a military or veteran parent qualify for a 10% discount.
Multi-Class Discount*
We offer a 10% discount for each additional camp a student takes over the summer.
Sibling Discount*
We offer a 10% discount for each additional sibling who participates in a camp over the summer.
*Students may use only one discount per class and all discounts will be applied to the equal or lesser value camp.
Matt Dunn
Musical Theatre, Dance & Voice Instructor
Matt Dunn is gracious for the opportunity to join the Academy of Children’s Theatre. Matt is an actor, singer, dancer, and teacher from Orange County, CA. He received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre from California State University, Fullerton and has performed in various regional productions around the Los Angeles area. Matt started singing and acting when he was 8. He has a vocal performance background and has sung at venues like The Hollywood Bowl, The Lincoln Center, and Carnegie Hall. He trained under a direct student of acting mogul Konstantin Stanislavski and has extensive dance training in tap, jazz, and ballet. One of Matt’s favorite performances was with the original production company of Rock of Ages on contract with Norwegian Cruise Lines. Matt has a passion for teaching and has 10 years of experience as an acting coach, voice teacher, and dance instructor. Apart from theatre, Matt is the proud father of 3 children and owns a local dog training company with his wife, Jenny.
