Academy Players: The Audition Process
Audition Process: Alice in Wonderland Jr.
1. Schedule TWO Audition Times
Acting & Vocal Auditions will be held on December 7-8. EVERYONE must sign up for a 10-minute audition slot. Three people will audition per 10-minute time slot. (If you are also auditioning for Seussical – TYA, you only need ONE Vocal & Acting time slot. One Vocal & Acting audition covers both shows. )
Dance Auditions will be held on December 9. EVERYONE must attend a dance audition. Please sign up for a time based on your dance experience. (If you are also auditioning for Seussical – TYA, you only need ONE Dance time slot. One Dance audition covers both shows.)
2. Complete the Audition Form and PRINT IT OUT.
This form needs to be filled out and signed by the PARENT and the student.
(If you are also auditioning for Seussical – TYA, you must fill out two forms: one for Alice in Wonderland Jr. and one for Seussical – TYA. These are different forms, found on the corresponding audition pages.)
3. Your Audition
Bring your printed audition form and a recent 8″ x 10″ photo of you to your audition.
- Your photo doesn’t need to be professionally done. You can take a photo on your phone and have it printed at Walmart.
- Your photo MUST be current. With so many students auditioning, the director needs to recognize your face when reviewing auditions, so it should look like you do now.
Prepare a 1-minute monologue of your choice, as well as a cut of a song no more than 1 minute long. See the Audition Materials page for more information.
4. Callbacks: December 17-18, 4:00-6:00 PM
All students who audition will receive an email by December 11 letting them know whether they are called back for a second audition.
December 17 & 18, 4:00 – 6:00 PM: Acting & Vocal Callbacks
- We will call students back in groups for acting and/or vocal callbacks, depending on the roles for which they are being considered.
- Those who are called back will receive a daily schedule, as well as additional music and acting scenes to prepare.
5. Casting Results
Casting results will be emailed by December 21. Everyone will get an email letting them know if they were cast or not.
