FALL SEMESTER CLASS

Action Dance: Grades 4-8

Action Dance: Saber Wars

Action Dance is a fast-paced class that combines the skills of dance technique, acting, and combat choreography. Students will work on perfecting falls, holds, and “knaps” (a no-contact method of stage combat which uses distraction and sound effects to creatively convince the audience of onstage action). Dancers will also practice physical tricks, leaps, assisted lifts and basic stage sword handling, all of which are used to create the more artistic and choreographed fight scenes we see onstage and in our favorite films. Students will prepare a medley of choreographed songs from various favorite space shows, like Star Wars, to perform ON STAGE for family and friends to enjoy!

NOTE: Students wanting to wield a light saber in their part will need to provide their own.
